Ranking the NBA rosters

NBA

The NBA trade deadline is long gone, and deadlines for the signing of playoff-eligible buyout players have passed. With the exception of a handful of players coming from overseas leagues who haven't been on an NBA roster this season (like Andray Blatche), the team rosters are set.

As such, it's an excellent time to sit back and evaluate who's got the best rosters for the upcoming playoff stretch. Below you'll find a subjective ranking based on talent, coaching, health, and expected productivity between now and June.

Note: We cut the list of analyses at the 22 teams that still have a reasonable chance of reaching the postseason.

1. Golden State Warriors

Despite going 4-3 in their last seven games, the Warriors remain the deepest and most versatile roster and the odds-on favorites to win it all. They can play fast, they can play slow, they're well coached, explosive offensively, and they sport the best defense in the league. No deals made at the deadline because, quite frankly, there aren't any pressing needs on this team (other than good luck when it comes to health). Stephen Curry has been magnificent all season long and is my MVP pick thus far, but they can't be expected to bail out the team repeatedly as he has during this road trip.
